TOI Poll: Rafael Nadal the clear favourite to finish with most Grand Slam titles | Tennis News

There was a time when many questions were asked about Rafael Nadal’s longevity. Would he be able to sustain his extremely physical brand of tennis to challenge someone like Roger Federer as far as the Grand Slam titles count is concerned.
The Spaniard seems to have silenced those critics completely after winning his 20th Grand Slam title, which has made him equal Federer’s all time record. The 39 year old Federer last won a Grand Slam at the 2018 Australian Open.
But don’t forget about Novak Djokovic. He is the youngest of the ‘Big 3’ at 33 years old and has already won 17 Slams. For many he is the favourite to finish with the most number of Grand Slam titles.
However, after Nadal’s incredible 13th French Open title win, he is clearly the favourite at this time.
TimesofIndia.com ran a poll asking people to vote for who they think will finish with the most number of Grand Slam titles among the ‘Big 3’ and both on the website and on Twitter, it’s Nadal who edged out Federer and Djokovic.
On the TOI site, 51% of the people who voted felt that the 34 year old Nadal will finish with the most number of Grand Slam titles. What’s interesting is that 43% voted for Djokovic and Federer received only 6% of the vote share.
While on Twitter too Nadal was ahead of his two other contemporaries. More people on Twitter felt Federer has a good chance of eventually having the most number of Grand Slam titles. Here, Rafa received 47.5% of the vote share, Djokovic got 31.6%, while Federer received 20.9%.
While the greatest of all time debate rages on, it will be very interesting to see which of these three great players eventually holds the record for the most number of Slams won.
